Feature Design

Game design can require a lot of factors that can affect the user's experience. One of these factors is the feature design, for example. If I were to make a feature design in the game, it would be the ability to track the user's second thoughts on making choices in RPG game. Imagine that by taking those secondary thoughts based on the user's behavior that it creates a secondary gameplay alongside the player's own, so that little by little the player begins to notice that his or own previous thoughts created an alternative timeline beside their own. This creates a double-sided dimensional feeling when the player is navigating through the game, watching their reflection of the other possibilities they could have taken, allowing the player to observe of what could have happened instead in the game's overall storyline.

Starting with this storyboard wireframe , we can open up the game with the user playing as a character walking along a path until it stumbles across a decision point. The decision point will open up in a separate window, where you as the player will rank the two choices given in a particular decision. After the options are ranked by the player, the player will watch as they walk along the path to see how their paths diverge over the course of the story. With this refracted divergence, the player can focus on their own window to focus on their own story, or watch their refracted character partaking in the second choices made, allowing the user to watch their story instead.

This game feature creates a divergence of two storylines but still melded into one storyline overall, because it's you as the player and watching how the user's decisions can create totally different consequences in the course of the two plots running simultaneously. With this idea, it could spawn a variety of different paths, rather than just two--- but three, four, or five more paths taken by adding the number of options in each decision, creating a decision tree of plotlines running in various alternative universes alongside your own.
